2nd grade students looked at the art of three master watercolorists: Edward Hopper, Winslow Homer and Georgia O’Keefe. Students identified similarities and differences between the artists and their styles. The children then experimented with eight different watercolor techniques. They used their understanding of color families to select a color scheme and paint strips of paper using a their color choices and the watercolor techniques. Finally, students ripped and collaged the strips together to create their final piece. CLICK HERE for more student work. |
