Fourth graders learned about sign language, ASL and the deaf community. We watched music videos in sign language and discussed the difference between spoken English and American Sign Language. Then students used clay to sculpt a hand depicting a sign that they could relate to. Some students added an object to represent the sign or their connection to the sign.
